Once upon a time, in a city where you can wear shorts on Christmas, lived a girl named Victoria and a boy named Nick. She was 16 and he was 17. They went to the same high school and had many of the same friends. One day in November of 2001 Nick said to Vicky,
“So, I haven’t seen Monster’s Inc. yet…”
“So, do you want to go with me?” replied Vicky. She didn’t know at the time, but this turned out to be their first date!
After that, their friendship grew into a relationship and so on December 1, 2001, at a dinner where they were supposed to be meeting friends (who conveniently dropped out), Nick turned to Vicky and asked “Will you be my girlfriend?”
And that is how this love story started….
They went through many teenage milestones together, like first cars, Homecoming dances, Senior Proms, and of course, Graduations!
Next came the college years…. Go Noles!!!
In these early years, there were many birthdays and holidays spent together too.
In the summer of 2008, the brave young couple from Florida moved to the Big Apple into a small basement apartment right off Times Square.
It was time for graduate school. Nick went to Parsons, Victoria to NYU. While living in that cramped apartment—the one with the overactive radiator that meant they had to keep the AC on even in the dead of winter—they learned the meaning of being there for each other “in sickness and in health and for richer or for poorer.”
In 2010 when Nick got his first big job in Boston, he asked Victoria to come with him. Here they get to enjoy all four seasons: they go apple picking in the fall, sledding in the winter, and on beautiful spring days they can have company over for blind taste-tests of what light beer or bottom-shelf vodka is best.
So after 11 years of being best friends… Nick planned a perfect trip to the coast of Maine where he proposed to Victoria.
If you want to see what happens next in this love story, make sure to save the date for the Wedding in the Florida Keys on May 31, 2014.
